What educators are saying

I loved this resource. Super easy to use and the directions are clear and easy for students to understand. It went perfectly with my absolute value unit. I gave it to the students on a day I was gone and left the answer key with the sub if they needed to make sure students were doing it right.
My kids did a stained glass window with linear functions and then loved this one with absolute value functions as a next step.

Description

This is a double sided practice page on graphing absolute value functions with transformations. TEKS Aligned: A2.2A, A2.6C

The student first identifies the vertex and transformations of 9 absolute value functions.

Next, they graph all 9 functions on the same large graph paper creating a stained glass design. Finally, they color in the design. For fun, the student can try to find and identify 5 different shapes in the resulting design such as triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, etc. Key included.
