Description
I use this lesson each year to prep students to take multiple choice tests, weather that is an EOG, State Final Exam, Classroom assessment, SAT, ACT, etc. These strategies are extremely useful and invites students to think about multiple choice tests in a new way. The lesson hinges around a quiz in a made up language so students cannot "know" the right answer but they can use other skills to infer the best responses. At the end of the quiz students can go over the questions and find out about the strategy used in each question by reviewing the answer key. This is on of my students favorite lessons that we do all year. They love the idea that I'm telling them something secret that the test-makers don't want them to know ;)
