What educators are saying

I used this to help review major events during Jefferson's presidency. Overall my students liked it and it was easy to follow.
This is a great summary of some of Jefferson's most controversial decisions as president. It allows students to understand his motives behind his decisions. It is a great resource that I have used for multiple years.

Description

In this resource on Thomas Jefferson's presidency, Louisiana Territory, Barbary Wars, and Embargo Act, students work individually or in pairs to complete a graphic organizer from included focused text on each event. First, students will read "Jefferson's Justifications" which details three separate events - The Purchase of the Louisiana Territory, the Embargo Act, and War with the Barbary States. For each event, students will understand the policies set forth by the Jefferson administration.

Students will work to fill out the included graphic organizer, which can be part of an interactive notebook or binder. Included are "Jefferson's Justifications" student reading, partner discussion questions, Graphic Organizer for students, and a completed Graphic Organizer for teachers.

This resource includes a paper in-class version and a 1:1 Google compatible version to be used in conjunction with Google Classroom. Just follow the included instructions for how to access the Google version, then share the resource through Google or assign via Google Classroom. This will allow students to type directly into the document!
