What educators are saying

I used this with my World History class when studying the Korean War as part of the greater Cold War. All the key information was included, the slides were easy to follow, and I liked the layout of the notes, especially the parts where it asked them to answer questions. Thanks for making this!
This was an excellent resource and really highlighted the important parts of the Korean War my kids needed to understand.

Description

In this Korean War and Cold War guided notes and PowerPoint resource, students learn about the background, causes, outcomes, and modern relevance of the Korean War (plus much more!). Students learn about the origins of the 38th parallel, the role of Communism and the Cold War, the divide into North Korea and South Korea following World War II and the Yalta Conference, the reason why the United States got involved in Korea, the role of Douglas MacArthur, Kim Il Sung, Syngman Rhee, the origins of the Domino Theory, the conditions for US soldiers during the war, the origins of the modern Korean War Memorial in Washington DC, and, finally, what life is like in Korea today (including the government of North Korea led by Kim Jong-un).

This lesson is included in my Cold War Resource Bundle located here!

The 5 pages of guided notes include a variety of prompts to deepen understanding on the Korean War, and include a handful of graphic organizers to keep student interest and maintain student engagement. Enjoy the 5-pages guided notes, a 20-page PowerPoint, and a full key to teach students the causes, outcomes, history, and relevance today of the Korean War in United States history!

A Google 1:1 compatible version is included in this product! Use in either a traditional setting or in the 1:1 environment!
