Mathematics in Focus Kindergarten SMART board lessons Ch 1

If you use Mathematics in Focus in Kindergarten, this is just what you need. This 266 page SMART Notebook file is intended to be used as a supplement to compliment the materials provided with the program. I have found that the program does not provide students with enough opportunities to practice each skill. This classroom learning experience is structured according to the program’s Investigate–Discover– Explore–Apply format. This is clearly indicated at the top of each slide to help to seamlessly integrate it with the program’s materials. Additionally, there are many interactive activities and interesting graphics to increase student engagement.

This bundle encompasses all of chapter 1. Within this chapter there are 6 lessons which span 15 days. It is easy to follow because all of the pages for each day are color coded for ease of use. For example, the 17 pages for chapter 1, lesson 1, day 1 have a yellow background while the following lesson’s pages are blue.

Each lesson begins with the learning objectives as outlined by the program, followed by skill review, direct instruction pages, and a significant amount of concept development pages to provide students with additional practice as a whole group before applying each skill on their own.

I referred to the teacher edition scripts, lesson sequence/activities to create this interactive experience so that all you have to do is turn on your SMART board and do what you do best! I will continue to post lessons as they are created.
