Mead, Cooley, and Socialization Overview for Sociology
Description
Introduce Cooley’s Looking Glass Self and George Mead’s Socialization Concepts with your sociology students with this activity. Students will view a PowerPoint Presentation with film clips and follow along with cloze notes. They will watch a series of film clips and identify which one represents each of these concepts: The “I,” the “me,” and Preparatory, Play, and Game Stages. Then they will create a comic strip that represents each of Mead’s concepts introduced in the presentation.
