What educators are saying

I have a lot of students who are struggling learners. They loved that they could be creative with this activity.

Description

In this Mucracker Magazine student project assignment, students work individually or in groups to create a Muckraker Magazine that focuses on one of the reformers of the Progressive Era / Gilded Age! Jane Addams, Lincoln Steffens, Upton Sinclair, Jacob Riis, Ida Wells, Ida Tarbell, Lewis Hine, and Alice Paul are available options for students to investigate!

This activity is included in my Progressive Era and Gilded Age Unit Bundle located here!

This research project is structured like a web quest (and a page of links is included to guide student research) however you can certainly supplement with your own resources! Students must collaborate with each other to compile a magazine on their reformer/muckraker, much like modern newspapers are produced! Political cartoons, feature articles, advertisements, and much more must be included!

Too, this is entirely editable to tweak your individual needs!

Enjoy!
