- The addition & subtraction problems have like denominators and include proper fractions and mixed numbers.
- There are also problems where students must add fractions & mixed numbers to a whole number or subtract fractions from a whole number.
- The fraction multiplication problems in this lesson all involve one whole number and one proper fraction.
- Note- because dividing fractions is not taught in 4th grade, these multistep word problems do not include division.
