Description

In this My Lai Massacre primary source activity, students work as part of an investigation team to uncover what happened in the Vietnamese village of My Lai during the Vietnam War. Students are introduced to the case files (several interview accounts, primary source images) and are asked to draw several conclusions individually -- then students work in collaborative groups and discuss with teammates to come to an understanding on the horrific events that took place in the Vietnamese village of My Lai. Students will answer four overarching questions to understand the massacre.

To conclude, students complete a set of guided notes where they learn the details surrounding the My Lai Massacre, the role of United States military Company C, the Geneva Convention, the international reaction, and much more!
