What educators are saying

I have been using this resource with my 4th graders to cover the instrument families. They have been very engaged in each lesson and due to the different slides, they have been coming up with some fantastic questions.
Loved having my classes use this for their orchestra review. The listening examples were great and very engaging to the majority of my students

Description

I had heard about people using Virtual Field Trips on Google Slides for elementary music lessons, but I wasn't sure. Then I tried it and I am hooked! This Virtual Field Trip to the orchestra teaches third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students about instruments of the orchestra.

In this Google Slides activity, students will click on a picture in the "music hall". Each thing that students click on takes them to a different portion of the virtual field trip. After every section of the Virtual Field Trip, there is a slide where students can show their learning by answering questions.

This Virtual Field Trip teaches instruments of the orchestra. It includes the four different instrument families: percussion, strings, brass, and woodwind. Each section talk about HOW we know the instruments belong in that family, embedded YouTube videos to hear what they sound like together, the common instruments from each family, and an activity for the students to do.

I designed this field trip for 3-5 grade music lessons.

Need more instruments of the orchestra activities? This bundle includes video lessons and Google Slides activities (that are different!) and goes deep into each of the families!

Includes:

  • 46 Slide Google Slides lesson
  • All 4 instrument families
  • 19 of the slides include something to do (play along, label an instrument, sort instruments, respond to answers, etc)
