This is a great rubric to use when assessing the writing skills of my students. It helps me know where to focus their instruction.
Description
This rubric is designed to help students and teachers identify the structure of a paragraph by looking at the following basic criteria:
- Topic Sentence - What is the main idea?
- Detail Sentences - Are there supporting sentences that provide detail to your topic sentence?
- Concluding Sentence - Did you "tie up" your main idea?
- Grammar/Punctuation
