Planet Lapbook

This product contains printable pieces to cut, fold, and glue into a lapbook about a planet in our solar system. Eight lapbooks in all can be created, one for each planet. The pieces could also be used in an interactive science notebook.

There are two sets of pieces to use in a lapbook or interactive notebook:
1. Color with blank spaces for students to write in
2. Black & white pieces with blank spaces for students to write in

There is no set with information completed, as most of the pieces can be used for any planet in the solar system. To find information to complete the lapbook pieces, you will need to use books from your science curriculum, web sites about the planets, or another source of information.

The following pieces are included in each set:
• Title piece
• Planet piece
• Did you know? flap books
• What does it look like? piece with circle to illustrate the planet
• Where in the solar system is it? piece with solar system diagram to show position of planet (first, second, etc.)
• 2 different flap books for important information about the planet (size, length of day & year, temperature & weather, surface & atmosphere, how many moons?)
• Venn diagram flap book for each planet (Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, Neptune, Saturn, Uranus, Venus) to compare and contrast that planet to Earth (this flap book is not shown as part of the sample photographed)

Additional supplies needed:
• 1 manila folders per student
• Scissors
• Glue
• Construction paper (optional, I use it to cover the original fold in the manila folder and to add some color)
