Poetry They Will LOVE: Close Reading With Lyrics- Wake Me Up by Avicii

Okay...my kids have been requesting me to do a close read with this song, so here it is. Song lyrics, 8 close reading questions, and theme/author's purpose graphic organizers are all included in this guide. Students will deepen their understanding and use critical thinking skills to understand the meaning of the song with the questions included.

The lyrics, the metaphors, and the overall theme of this song will create conversation with your students which will have them thinking deeply while reading the text.
