Description

In this primary and secondary sources activity, students complete five different phases to understand the difference between primary sources and secondary sources, how to spot bias or validity issues within primary sources, complete a gallery walk to spot primary and secondary sources, engage in a research project where students compile select sources for a chosen topic, and complete a final primary v secondary sources quiz to showcase what they know.

Do your students need help understanding the difference between primary and secondary sources? Or do you need help teaching where information comes from? What about how the source of information can be more or less helpful depending on their personal history? Then this resource is for you!

This five-step activity is a great way to teach primary and secondary sources, how they are used, and what they offer. A full teacher key and a Google 1:1 version are included!
