What educators are saying

The resource was useful to teach as well as review the skills for that week. I am thankful that the questions were included and it is adaptable for student needs.
This was a great resource for teaching the differences between primary and secondary sources. They pictures were very helpful.

Description

I created this resource to introduce primary and secondary sources.

I have two slides defining each. Then, I have a slide comparing and contrasting first and second hand accounts. I would have students complete the Venn Diagram first, and then show the answers after.

Next, I have 11 slides for interactive practice. Students will be presented with various resources and decide whether each one is primary or secondary. They can use whiteboards, hand signals, or turn and talk to show what they know about each practice slide. Answers for the practice are explained after each slide.

At the end, there are 8 questions for a check for understanding. I just display the questions on the projector and have students answer on a separate sheet of paper. There is a printable version of the quiz and note-taking sheets if you prefer!

I hope you enjoy the product!
