Readers' Theater Plays for The Mitten and The Hat by Jan Brett

This product gives you two readers' theater scripts adapted from two popular winter stories by Jan Brett.

Tips for teachers’ use:

• These scripts were originally written for and used in a 2nd grade classroom.
• The Hat script includes parts for 11 students, and it is written for students at a lower reading level.
• The Mitten script includes parts for 13 students, and it is written for students in 2nd grade reading at an average to above reading level.
• I had my class dress up and perform the plays for their parents and other classes. We had a blast using props such as white butcher paper mittens, a yarn clothesline, scarves, hats, mittens, and more! What a fun way for students to work on their reading fluency!!
