Description

Looking for a FUN, ENGAGING, and STANDARDS-BASED STEAM challenge? This is a classic take on the STEAM tower with an extra math twist.

Students build a tower, as high as they can, while staying under a $200 budget. Each material will cost students a specific amount, which they can use their STEAM bucks to buy.

The student task sheet, a brainstorming page, a cost sheet, and reflection questions are all included in this pack.

The materials list for this challenge are as follows:

  • Straws
  • Toothpicks
  • Tape
  • Mailing labels
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Card stock
  • Regular paper
  • Masking tape
  • Foil
  • Washers (I would recommend having 50 on hand)

There is some prep involved in making sure everything is ready for this STEAM challenge, so you will want to give yourself some time to prepare.

There will be more STEAM Challenges coming soon, so keep checking back for more!

Enjoy!
