Description

This lesson is a fun way for students to learn basic economic concepts (opportunity costs, tradeoffs, cost/benefit) while being creative in planning their future vacations. This web based research assignment has students planning 4 different vacations (2 flights & 2 driving). Each trip has rules and a family budget amount that students must follow for the vacation. I use this project around school breaks and encourage students to price out their most recent vacation as one of their options. Give students a relevant and fun assignment that includes basic economic concepts and state standards. Ever think kids have no concept of what things costs??? If so, teach them using a concept that many of your students can relate to.

The lesson includes:
State standards
Essay questions
pre & post questions
4 trips with different rules (2 by flight and 2 by car).
