Description

Similes and Metaphors Literacy Center

This is a fun way to teach figurative language!

Included in this lesson are three literacy centers:

  • A literacy center for just similes. The students match the missing word to the sentence. When matched, they make a simile.

  • A literacy center for just metaphors. The students match the missing word to the sentence. When matched, it will make a metaphor.

  • A literacy center for metaphors and similes. Students read the sentence and then decide if it is a simile or a metaphor.

Also included are two posters. One explains what a simile is and the other explains what a metaphor is.

The literacy centers are in color and in black and white.

Answer sheets and answer keys are included.
