What educators are saying

This was great practice for my advanced 7th graders. I turned it into a race. They loved it! I like the rigor of the problems.
My students were engaged and it was great to check their work with a partner without having the same problems to solve! It allowed good discussions and error analysis.

Description

Differentiate your assignments on simplifying algebraic expressions with these fun partner matching worksheets!

***This resource is included in my Algebraic Expressions Bundle, as well. ***

This product contains 3 different levels of partner matching worksheets on simplifying algebraic expressions. The problems on the level A worksheet simply require students to combine like terms (with integer coefficients) without having to use the distributive property, the level B worksheet has problems that require students to combine like terms and/or use the distributive property (with integers only), and the level C worksheet has students combining like terms and using the distributive property with rational coefficients (positive and negative fractions, decimals, and integers). *** Please note that all 3 levels contain positive and negative numbers! ***

For these partner matching worksheets, have one student answer the questions in column A and another student answer the questions in column B. Then have them match the answers between the two columns. The partner aspect of the activity makes it more fun for students and the matching makes it self-checking! Each worksheet contains 30 questions (15 for partner A and 15 for partner B to complete).

Give different worksheets to different students or give one worksheet as classwork, one as homework, and one as a partner quiz -- it's up to you how you use these tiered worksheets!!

Answer keys for each of the 3 worksheets are included, as well!
