Obedience, conformity, and the power of the situation all contribute to this complex situation. This resource begins with a gallery walk to introduce schemas and social scripts. Then students read an overview of Zimbardo's Stanford Prison Experiment and come to their own conclusions based on a vocabulary tone analysis activity. Finally, students participate in a snowball think-write-pair-share discussion about some of the big questions of this study.
