What educators are saying

My students loved this resource! Not only hearing the original sonnet, but then putting it into our everyday vernacular was really eye opening for them! Thanks for such a fun activity!
I use this lesson when I teach Midsummer Night's Dream. It helps the students become more familiar and confident with Shakepearean English - and the pictures are fun.

Description

One of the best ways to introduce students to Shakespeare is to begin with Sonnet 18. This comic teaches students Sonnet 18 (or "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day") one of the most famous poems in the English language.

Included in this resource:

-a comic that teaches the poem

-a prereading activity in which students try to find words to fit blanks in the poem

-questions about the poem

-a lesson about sonnets, including the sonnet form and iambic pentameter.
