Description
Ah, Earth Day! This is an Earth Day sorting activity for the Smart Board™. It is suitable for primary grades (Pre-K, Kindergarten and First Grade, mostly). Sorting items into categories is a basic math skill. Students use the interactive whiteboard to sort Earth Day items into two labeled trash cans or recycling bins.
A gentle “ping” sounds if they are correct. Incorrect items bounce back out. It could also be useful for children with autism, as it does not have any distracting bells and whistles.
There are 13 pages, covering 9 sorting activities.
Among the items to be recycled:
- metal cans
- magazines
- glass jars
- plastic bottles
- papers
- glass bottles
Among the items for trash:
- fruit peels
- old clothes
- broken pencils and crayons
**This is a file designed for the SMART (brand) Smart Board (not Mimio, Promethean, or ActivInspire). You need to have Smart Notebook software version 11 or later in order for it to work.**
