Description

Do your students have an affinity for science and music? This sound experiment offers a scientific process to explore change in pitch using water jars. It is a great hands-on activity for elementary students where they work in groups to determine how water levels change the pitch of glasses. They then have the opportunity to play simple melodies and compose their own!

INCLUDES:

-Slideshow of Water Glass Pitch Experiment: experiment directions, materials, hypothesis, scientific process, and analysis. It also includes notation for "Mary Had a Little Lamb" for students to practice playing with their musical jars, and a section for music composition.

- Quickstart Teacher Summary: directions and tips for teacher when doing the experiment

My elementary students really enjoyed seeing the correlation between music and science!
