What educators are saying

The activities were fully aligned with the standard I needed to review and the practice was excellent for the students.
Many of the students struggle with note-taking in class.. These handouts provide a great tool to help students identify the steps to solve and the use of a reference when working independently.

Description

This editable algebra 1 worksheet can be used to introduce systems of linear inequalities or for students to practice. At the top, there is a place for students to make notes about the boundary line (solid or dashed) depending on the inequality symbol, how to determine which region is supposed to be shaded, and what it means to be a 'solution' of a system of linear inequalities. Then, there are four examples, where students need to transform the inequalities into slope-intercept form and graph both of the inequalities. At the very bottom, there is a spot where students have to identify solutions of the system.

Now includes a second option that can be made into a "foldable" and includes examples with inequalities already written in slope- intercept form.

I used this in my 8th-grade algebra 1 honors class.

MACC.912.A.REI.D.12 Graph the solutions to a linear inequality in two variables as a half-plane (excluding the boundary in the case of a strict inequality), and graph the solution set to a system of linear inequalities in two variables as the intersection of the corresponding half-planes.

Perfect for interactive math notebooks! I use this type of assignment during whole group guided instruction, but it would also work great for intervention, small group, centers, or during a tutoring session.

This download includes a print + go PDF version, as well as the editable PowerPoint file.
