Who we are:
Litassure offers chapter reading comprehension quizzes guaranteed to be cheat-proof. We create our chapter quizzes after meticulously checking the content of the top 9 book summary sites to ensure students will have to read the book to be successful on the quizzes.
What's included:
The reading chapter quizzes include the same question quiz in a multiple choice and short answer version with an answer key, including corresponding page numbers. An alternate version with the same quiz questions in a different order is also included.
Why it matters:
Utilizing the quizzes from Litassure will encourage the students to read the material, once they realize it is necessary to be successful on the quiz and will further ensure the productivity of class time. Students will be more willing and ready to discuss the literature on a deeper level because they have actually read the material.
I know this system to be true, as I have tested its merit by using the quizzes in my own classroom. Most of my students learned very quickly that they could not depend on the summary sites, and the word spread quickly. In fact, I saw a huge improvement in class discussions/activities regarding the novels after creating the chapter quizzes. So overall, giving an effective quiz for the chapters is a win-win for the teacher and student alike.
Please keep in mind that the quizzes are designed to ensure that the assigned reading was done. Because of this, the questions focus on details in the reading and avoid plot points but are not discussion-based to interpret a student's understanding of the text.
The intent is to ensure reading is completed. Those who have not read will not know the answers, and those who skim read without concentration, will realize that a focused, detailed reading is necessary.
I have proven this fact in my own classroom and have seen dramatic improvement as a result.
