What educators are saying

My early finishers loved this enrichment station. I was able to briefly go over it with them and they were able to complete on their own or with other early finishers.
My students really enjoyed this activity. I'm always looking for any way to change up our math rotations, and this was a success!

Description

Looking for a fun and engaging activity to help your practice area and perimeter this St. Patrick's Day? Your students will love this DIGITAL Trap the Leprechaun project. Students must digitally make a box around each leprechaun to trap him. Once the leprechaun is trapped, students will find the area and perimeter of their box. This is ALL done through Google Slides, with full directions included. A great way to connect math and technology skills. Perfect for a math center, technology center, computer class lesson, or whole class lesson projected on the board.

Trap the Leprechaun St. Patrick's Day Math Area and Perimeter Project includes:

  • Student instructions
  • Teacher instructions

How to Use this Activity?

  1. This activity is meant to be used via Google Slides.
  2. Decide if you want to share the large grid with your students or the small grid. You can delete the pages that you don’t want to use. I include both sets, as I know some kids may need the larger grid.
  3. Go to Google Classroom and share the resource with your students, ensuring that you make a copy for each of your students.
  4. Directions are on each page for students.

⭐ My son had a lot of fun completing this activity on the computer, which made the process easy to change if he needed to. The concept of trapping the leprechaun with area and perimeter was a great way to review this concept. Thank you!

⭐ Love the clear instructions. It worked well with my third graders after just a small amount of guidance.

⭐ My students absolutely loved this activity. It freed me up to do a little intervention work with small groups.
