Description
This Valentine's Day activity is a fun activity to keep your kids engaged and motivated, while also practicing common core standards math standards!
Included are two Valentine’s Day word problem strips (they are both the same set of problems, with the exception being that one is a boy and one is a girl). Students are asked to complete all five word problems, which can be solved with multiplication, division, and a little subtraction and addition.
These word problems are based on 4th grade standards, but will be helpful as a challenge for 3rd graders, and a great review for 5th grade students.
Steps:
1. First, I have students complete the problems.
2. After I check the kids’ work, they color and cut the strip. They can then glue this together.
3. You can hang this in the hallway as is, or paste the entire strip on construction paper.
4. There are also a few extras included, which students can color and hang around the outside of their Valentine’s strip.
(For extra fun, place some googly eyes on the Valentine’s kids!)
Have fun and Happy Valentine’s Day!
