What educators are saying

Used this activity on one of the first days of school. Easy low prep activity for the students and I was able to have student work displayed the first week of class.
fun brain break that also reviewed Spanish colors plus provided great bulletin boards before parent night

Description

Classroom Poster: We "Heart" Spanish Collaboration Poster. Designed to decorate your Spanish classroom, reading center, or library.

(I have versions of this poster also available for French and English.)

The instructions for the teacher are in English. The individual coloring pages are in Spanish (see the preview for more details).

Children love my collaborative posters because they enjoy being part of the collaborative effort involved. Each piece of the poster is important - just like each child.

The final poster makes for a visually engaging display. Hang it anywhere!

  • Your classroom
  • An auditorium
  • A hallway
  • Your school library

They also make great

  • sub plans
  • morning work
  • early finisher activities
  • centers

...and more!

*****GREAT FOR ANY AGE*****

This lesson is very easy for teachers (low prep) but so much fun for kids! Each student is given one page/piece of a large mosaic collaboration poster to color according to the instructions on the page. Once all sheets are colored and cut out, they are then assembled to reveal a large multi-colored mosaic/poster/mural that says "We 'Heart' Spanish".

Poster Details

  • 30 pages
  • 5 x 6 grid
  • Final poster: Approx. 35 in. x 42 in. (depending on your printer settings).
  • Colors needed in crayons, colored pencils, or markers – You will need red (rojo), yellow (amarillo), blue (azul), orange (anaranjado), pink (rosa), purple (morado), green (verde), and black (negro).

Some teachers like to show their students what they will be making (that is why I have included a final example), and others like to keep it a secret until the end for a really fun surprise!

Bonus Coloring Page:

Collaborative posters are a lot of fun and teach children a great lesson about working together for the common good. However, at the end of the project, there is nothing for kids to take home to share with their families. That is why I have included this bonus free coloring page that says "We (heart) Spanish" (Nosotros (heart) Español), and kids can color it when they finish their piece of the poster and take it home to prompt them about this project.

It's also a nice touch to take a class photo in front of the large poster and send copies of the picture home with the kids or put in their file, so they have a copy of their work and their class - I assure you they will always remember exactly what piece they colored!
