What educators are saying

My kinders LOVED playing this. This is a great ay to get students to learn letters names, sounds and even spelling HFW. Highly engaging!
This is a class room favorite. When you add pool noodle mallets it become fantastic. We use it at the end of the month to review past spelling and sounds that we have been working on.

Description

I am passionate about finding ways to keep your whole class engaged as you use your smartboard or projector. This resource is sure to be a HIT with your students! The "whack-a-mole" theme is fun and motivating. Sound effects and animations will keep your kiddos focused and engaged. Make simple mallets for your class using pool noodles and pencils and let them whack mats to choose their answers. For even more kinesthetic fun, make large mats for students to stomp on.

* UPDATE - this file now includes Whack-a-Mole Keyboards! This will help your kiddos become familiar with where letters are on the keyboard.

*UPDATE #2 - Due to lots of requests, I have added printable mats that include the Spanish alphabet. Gracias, Amigos! ;)

*UPDATE #3 - I received some requests to make these both faster and slower. I have added two additional speeds. Find the right fit for your class!

This set includes an editable PowerPoint. You will type your own spelling words on the slides. Students will smack the letters as they spell each word. The PowerPoint will run itself for 4 minutes. There are directions to add more slides or delete them to fit your needs. This is currently set-up for 20 words. My first graders only focus on 10 words each week, but I use the additional slides to focus on tricky sight words or to review spelling words from previous weeks. Use this template again and again by saving under a new name each time you create a spelling list. I am currently working on a variety of other skills that will be added to growing bundles.
