Looking for a one-stop-shop for your 3rd and 4th grade vocabulary center? This resource is for you! This Word of the Day Center BUNDLE is designed to help you teach vocabulary throughout the year in a fun and meaningful way. This can be used as a center in your classroom, as a quick homework activity, as morning work, as partner activities or even as a whole class activity! Your students will love learning a new vocabulary word each day with these fun activities!
Word of the Day Vocabulary Center - 3rd & 4th Grade ENTIRE YEAR BUNDLE Includes:
- 144 words (9 months worth of words for use Monday through Thursday)
- Friday activities to review the week’s words
- Sample Posters for each of the activities included
The students then have a choice of 4 activities per day. Some of the activities are a little more challenging, but this is good for those kiddos who may want/need a bit of a challenge. The students can then complete the word of the day card at the center. I have these available for a center Monday through Thursday. On Friday, students will complete one of the WEEK-END Vocabulary activities to wrap up the week. You could collect this for a grade if you would like, or send it home so parents can see what the kiddos are working on in regard to vocabulary.
If you choose to use this as a center, here’s what you should include at the table:
- Blank paper
- Dictionaries
- Markers/crayons/pencils
- Word of the Day Sample Posters
STORAGE TIPS: These center activities are easy to store with the photo bin pictured. I purchased a 16 bin photo case from Michael’s Craft Store. You can also purchase this from Amazon. I use this bin to store the center cards inside for an entire month. At the beginning of the month, print the cards for that month back-to-back, cut them into fourths, and place them inside of the photo bins. (Of course, if you choose to not use the photo bins, you can just place the day’s center cards in a folder for students to use.)
