Questions are focused mainly on topics studied during early and modern World History courses. While all questions are historical in nature, 80% of questions deal with World History content (for example, famous people, events, etc.), 10% deal with American History from a World History lens, and 10 % deal with a "people's history" (music, entertainment, sports, etc.). A key is included for each question as well!
Here are a few sample questions from this set of "On This Day" activities:
★ On October 7, 1886, Spain outlawed slavery in this colony, just 100 miles south of the United States.
★ Born on August 19, 1883, Gabrielle Chanel became a famed fashion designer. What nickname did she go by?
★ On May 15, 1213, King John of England overstepped his bounds by forcing the appointment of Stephen Langton to the position of Archbishop of Canterbury. This abuse of power, along with others, was a contributing factor to John’s barons forcing him to sign this power-limiting document.
★ On this day in 1917, this Russian revolution ended with Vladimir Lenin installing communism in the country.
