Description

I love incorporating crafts into all subjects, especially in math! This Zero The Hero math craft is a fun way for students to learn about the importance of zero as the place value holder!

Zero The Hero has such an important job and is truly a great math hero! We need him to make numbers that are two digits or more! Students will use this craft to learn about Zero The Hero and identify the pattern of when he appears—he always comes when you count by ten!

Use this craft along with the book, Zero The Hero by Joan Holub. Zero the Hero is a wonderful character to use to introduce the tenth day of school, skip counting by tens, the importance of place value, or even just the number zero by itself!

These crafts also make an adorable bulletin board or display!

All templates needed and a blackline master are included in this craft!

The resource includes:

  • Instructions on how to prep and make the Zero The Hero craft
  • Hundreds Chart Recording Sheet (includes a 100 AND 120 chart)
  • Templates for all the craft pieces (mask/eyes, lips, body/cape)
  • Blackline Master (to use as an alternative to the craft for students to color)

Resource Updates:

  • As of August 24, 2021 this resource has been updated with a 120 chart and a fresh look!

Your kids will love learning about Zero the Hero and then making their very own Zero the Hero!

I can't wait for you to use it!
