TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a National Board Certified teacher with seventeen years of classroom experience at the elementary level. I have earned recognition in the field for my roles as a curriculum designer, educational consultant, and national conference presenter. As the founder of The Clutter-Free Classroom Blog, I love sharing my expertise in instruction, classroom organization, and management. I recently left the school setting to further pursue my passion for creating curriculum resources and use my knowledge and expertise to coach elementary teachers on a global level. Ranked on Teachers Pay Teachers as one of the most successful educational resource creators of all time, I have the honor of knowing that my lessons and activities are being used by millions of students in classrooms all around the world. That is a responsibility I take very seriously. My husband and I are currently homeschooling our son and twin daughters. Our family divides our time between Boston, Massachusetts and the Sarasota, Florida area.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I always thought the greatest compliment was when a substitute teacher would leave me a note reading, "The room runs itself." To me that meant the classroom was well-organized and I had instilled such consistent procedures and routines that the students knew exactly what to do at all times of the day. I truly feel students should be given choices in how and what they learn. I strive to help make busy teachers' lives easier so they have more time to dedicate to making learning fun and making each of their students feel special.
