This Huge Interactive SmartBoard package gives an introduction to China and the celebration of Chinese New Year. It is intended to cover a span of at least a week. This Black History Month item is a smartboard notebook file that includes pictures and linked classroom-appropriate youtube.com videos! I've highlighted 16 important figures during Black History Month that include Obama, Goode, Robinson, and many other important figures that we can celebrate during this month! Each page is designed as a bubble map to brainstorm facts that you know or learn about each individual and the lines at the bottom are great for guided, shared, or modeled writing!

Writing across the Curriculum
Use this powerpoint to teach writing across the curriculum in whole group, small group, or individual settings. Using thinking maps stratagies students will learn how to critically think about the topic they are writing about. This product gives lots of examples of how to use thinking maps for struggling and advanced readers and writers. It is an easily adaptable lesson that can be used with any unit of study.

Bat Compare Contrast Smart Notebook
This is a very comprehensive lesson comparing Bats to Kindergartners. Students will discuss attributes of bats and themselves, organize the data on two different charts. Discuss how they are similar and different to bats. Finally, they will synthesize the information they learned to draw a picture from the point of view of a bat, using attributes they learned about throughout the lesson.
