What educators are saying

What a great way to experience the French Revolution! My students really got into the acting. I made a fake guillotine and we enjoyed killing Louie (one of the students). Great resource.
This was awesome!!! We had so much fun with this, and was such a great summation of the French Revolution. Thank you!

Description

This is a fun Reader's Theater activity in which students use a 17-page script to act out the French Revolution's "Reign of Terror." The resource does not require props or rehearsing, but students may get creative as they get into it. The script covers a review of the causes of the French Revolution and focuses mainly on the dramatic events that unfolded during the radical phase. The script is divided by three scenes. There are 9 individual roles altogether and the rest of the class can function as crowds mostly listening (there is flexibility for creating more roles by having different narrators). This resource also includes a lesson plan to help prepare for the activity and how it can be facilitated for the class. Just print and go!

Product includes:

  • Overview
  • Lesson Plan
  • Character Sheet
  • 17 Page Script

Have fun with your class as they make the French Revolution come alive!
