I am 8th year middle school civics teacher in a suburban upper-middle class Pennsylvania district. I specialize in government, law, economics, and Colonial / Revolutionary American history.
I enjoy group work and student centered activities. Mostly everyday I utilize worksheets but use unique ways to have kids complete them. My curriculum lends itself very nicely to simulations, plays, and debates, so I use those very often as well. Technology is stressed in my classroom as well, I love using my Smart Board and have a classroom set of Chromebooks for the kids. I have kids of every level under the sun so I have to differentiate instruction very starkly.
I have had a few kids make it to nationals for History Day.
