My passion is to see sparks of love and joy in students. I've taught English, Psychology, and SEL-related subjects to disadvantaged and learning-challenged students from different parts of Asia for over 20 years now and believe more strongly than ever that education brings hope and spreads love. No matter what stories our students' background and socio-economic profile seek to tell, as they learn with joy, they learn to love and to hope.
A strong preference and natural leaning toward interactive and personal (and hence, personalized!) styles of teaching. I like to let my students know they are seen and heard and I endeavor to meet each child at their point of learning and growth (or even their mood for the day!). I believe in taking time to get to know them both in and out of the classroom and help them grow in their sense of self-worth. I truly love and deeply respect each student I interact with as I see it as a great privilege to be able to be a little spark of hope to their beautiful hearts and minds.

I enjoy learning languages myself and have experienced many times the joys and challenges of learning a foreign language. My first language is English, but I also listen, speak, read and write in Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia, Nepali, Cantonese, a little German and a just a little Thai.
