This is my 12th year teaching. I taught for 11 years in Northern California and will be teaching in San Diego this coming year. Besides a 4/5 combo my first year, I've taught exclusively 5th grade since then. I teach all subjects, but I have a particular affinity for Math. I love leading extracurricular stuff too. I had an Invention Club for 5th and 6th graders last year. I've been a Girls on the Run coach twice now. I've organized and put on two plays/performances as well. I get roped into doing extra teacher duties all the time too. I helped create the district ELA pacing guides for 5th grade. I've been on the District Assessment Committee the past two years. I've had the privilege of traveling to participate in some great PD opportunities as well! Basically I'm a teacher nerd.
Not really a textbook kinda gal. I try to make lessons fun and engaging always. I use partner work and group work as much as possible as well. I try to have my students create their own understanding of the concepts I am teaching and guide them through their learning, rather than tell them how.

Bachelor's degree and teaching credential from San Diego State University.
My favorite thing about teaching is being creative and making my own resources. I find a lot of the district-adopted curriculum to be annoying/too difficult/confusing, which is also why I prefer to make a lot of my own tests, assignments, projects (we have some freedom at my school, luckily). Everything you find in my store is something I have used with my own class. I am a teacher first. Running this store is more of a small hobby I do, just whenever I have some time. I will always make time to answer your questions though! If you're looking for products with cute fonts, clipart, and colorful images and borders and backgrounds…this is not the store for you! I just don't have time to do that. Like I said, these are straight from my own classroom to you!
