Primary responsibility is focused on the Career and Technical Education for the Business, Finance, and Marketing Sector. Deliver instruction on topics such as the principles of marketing, business soft skills, how to create and operate a business, career readiness, and the financial aspects of business. Improve student’s knowledge of business practices. Teach business topics such as basic economics, communications, résumé writing, business careers, computers, and finance. Deliver the skills and knowledge necessary for students to function as responsible citizens in the business world through real world experiences. Retain student records of grades and perform other administrative duties as needed. Read and stay abreast of current topics in business and technology. Create extensive lesson plans based on my own experience. Assess student learning styles. Utilize various curriculum resources throughout the business community. Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans. Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served. Create a positive learning environment. Develop professional relationships with business communities. Work with CTE director to ensure business initiatives are continuously at a high level for the district. Tutor students on an individual basis. Introduce basic computer, keyboarding and Internet skills. Teach students how to use Microsoft Office and format documents. Assign projects so students learn to endure real-world constraints, such as time, performance, and quality. Allow students to unravel technological problems using a hands-on, trial-and-error approach. Encourage creative thinking with challenging lesson and classroom projects. Assist students connect math, science and technological principles to everyday life.
My lessons provide "REAL WORLD" hands-on activities and blended learning, role plays, scenarios, student-centered activities, career-readiness, and real world experiences that provides students a PURPOSE within the classroom.

Eva Marie Foxwell is a middle school Business Technology teacher at Brandywine Springs School in Wilmington, Delaware where she has over 25 years of business experience and 10 years within the classroom. Her previous teaching experience includes K-8 education and serving as a Reading Specialist. Eva received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania. Before becoming a teacher, she held a career in banking for 14 years, in addition to serving as Operations Manager for an insurance company in Delaware and raising three daughters. While working as a substitute teacher at her daughters’ school, Eva was invited to teach and develop the curriculum for the Business Technology program. She brings her real-world experience in management, operations, and marketing into the classroom, where she helps students develop business knowledge and entrepreneurial skills. She is now turning her passion for teaching toward creating useful curriculum guides for fellow teachers. Eva’s awards include Teen Ink’s 2015 Educator of the Year and the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce 2015 Superstar in Education Award. Her first book, Managing the Classroom, prepares students for their future with career-ready education and a student-centered classroom.
