I've taught grades 1-8, then 5-8 in private schools, and now teach Choir to grades 6-8 in public school. I absolutely love it! My choir roster rangers from 500-550 yearly. I get to work with large classes, which has helped me develop systems and lessons that keep kids engaged, while supporting our choral department 6-12.
Because I work with large groups off non-auditioned students, I've developed a quick pace, systems, and a scaffolding approach that builds student's music literacy, while providing a fun, encouraging place to risk singing and growing. In addition, I've led and mentored teenagers for over twenty years in a mentor role. Leading small groups - and teaching others to do the same - has given me a unique perspective.

I am the mother of one biological miracle child, and one adopted miracle child. I'm married to the most amazing husband, and love experiencing life by his side. I enjoy gardening, reading, and bicycling. I spent 12 years away from education in a leadership/business role. (Learned tons about people in that time!) I'm a life-long learner who's always exploring how to stretch myself and grow in leadership, in my faith, in my role as a parent, and in my role as an educator. I want to encourage and help other educators as they meet the needs of students and build bridges through music and relationships.
