TEACHING EXPERIENCE

34 years in primary grades. 4 years teaching 1-2 combinations, 16 years in 2nd, 12 years in first, 1 in K, and 1 in 3rd.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have a balanced approach to teaching reading, using Debbie Miller's "Reading with Meaning" and the sisters "Daily 5" as my framework. I am constantly transforming my practices through ideas and knowledge from the IRA journal "The Reading Teacher".

Currently mentoring fellow combination teachers, trainer for ADD/SIOP initiative. ELA/ELL Adoption Committee, Wonders/Benchmark pilot teacher, trainer for Wonders adoption with district.
