My husband is a kindergarten teacher and I currently teach 4th grade math and science, so it's safe to say, there is a LOT of talk about education in our home. I've spent my entire career teaching in the city of Chicago. I first taught at a neighborhood school on the south side of the city where I worked for 10 years and I then made the transition to a world language magnet school where I've been teaching for the past 12 years. I've taught 1st through 5th grades and have acted as a school reading specialist, and provided professional development for teachers throughout the Chicago area. Currently, I teach math, science, and writing to our school's 4th graders. I have also provided math workshops/professional development for staff based on Common Core math and the NWEA exam.
