Hi! My name is Maryanne Ross, and I currently live in the sunny Middle East. I am a qualified History/Humanities teacher with a BA in History and a Diploma of Education from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. I also have a Master’s Degree in Ancient History from New England University in Armidale NSW, Australia and a Masters in Education from Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga NSW, Australia. I am also the creator of the Cunning History Teacher where I offer over 400 History teaching resources of a huge variety of history topics. Before that, I have worked in both the private and public school systems in NSW Australia. I absolutely love teaching. It’s my passion, as is History. When I first started teaching, I found it extremely hard to find history teaching resources online. The resources I found were not classroom ready but rather, an online textbook style or even suggestion for a lesson. As a single parent, I found that I was staying up all night not only searching for lesson ideas, but when I did find something suitable, I needed to spend hours creating a resource that would be appropriate to use with my students. I am hoping that this resource library will provide you with great quality resources to make your life easier in and out of the classroom. As mentioned, an unbelievable amount of time spent as a teacher is finding appropriate material that can be used in the classroom, therefore I wanted to provide a one-stop-shop with as many topics and teaching/learning ideas as possible so that teachers from around the world can catch up on some ‘me/family time’. Currently, we have over 4,000 subscribers who have used our lessons in their classrooms. We have perfected our lessons based on their feedback and our own students. Our lessons are also editable so that you can tailor them to your students needs as well as to your teaching style.
