I am a child of deaf adults both my parents and two siblings are deaf. This experience has given me direct experience with american sign language and being connected to unique minority language and culture population. My direct experience has provided me the passion to pursue and possess over ten years of experience as an American Sign Language professional in social and academic settings as a teacher in high school, faculty within higer education levels, interpreter, employment specialist and counselor.
I believe in students learning through hands-on and total immersion of the language. To promote and support my teaching style I rely heavily on sign perfromance, visual aids, powerpoints and various forms of technology that will compliment and advance student learning.
Received a medal for "Most Inspirational Teacher".
