TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hello and thank you for stopping by my store. My name is Tara and I have 10 years teaching experience. I have taught in both the Chicago suburbs and for CPS (Chicago Public Schools) with my most recent teaching experience being on the Southside of Chicago teaching a four year looped class called Academy which is part of our College and Career course work. I also have experience in both middle school and high school with a strong background in ELA, Language Arts, and Journalism. I was our schools Academy Department Chair and worked one year as our school's College and Career Counselor prior to taking sometime off to be home with my children. In addition, I have partnered with a fellow colleague who teaches primarily math courses including applied math and STEAM courses at both the middle school and secondary level. Together we have a combine total of 21 years of teaching experience.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style focuses on student centered learning and managing classroom instruction through Project-Based Learning. I believe all students have the right and ability to learn and understand. I believe teacher time should be spent providing instruction, feedback, support, and developing deep relationships with students.
