8 Years, 2 using CCSS and 6 using TEKS, as both an ELA teacher and Reading Interventionist
Very much student centered/student choice!
Teacher of the Month, September 2017. I have taught PDs on CHAMPs, use of Flocabulary, Classroom management, ESL inclusion, Introduced Sub-Plan B Alternative (for when you do not have enough substitute teacher coverage).
Masters of Arts, Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL); BS, Liberal Studies with minors in English and Education
My wife, Suzanne, is also in the classroom, originally as a substitute teacher but now as a paraprofessional Math interventionist, and she works with me on our TpT store. Why is this important? Because she sees the products through a different lens, which can be an enormous benefit! While other ELA nerds like myself might get excited about a product for class, she will ask me, "What if someone who isn't a writer is covering your class?" Time to revamp! In addition, she herself has a background (and degree) in animal science, with heavy emphasis on genetics, so when she is ready to dive in, we will probably start selling some science materials!
