I have been in education for over 30 years as a secondary math teacher, career coach, counselor, dean of students, administrator, and college campus director. I also have a private tutoring business focusing on ACT/SAT Test Prep and Study Skills.
My passion is working directly with students, so I have returned to my first love: the high school math classroom! I like to give students structured notes to use for reference during a lesson. I use many hands on activities and visual aides for students to learn using as many different learning styles as possible throughout the lesson. I love to find new and engaging activities to encourage student participation and academic growth. I am not afraid to try new things or even change directions during the lesson. My end goal is student success!
To be added.
I graduated from Auburn University in 1987 with a BS in Secondary Math Education. I received my MEd from Auburn University in 1990 in College Student Development.
I live in south Alabama with my husband (School Transportation Director) and our rescue animals. Our three sons are grown and all work in education in some aspect. My husband and sons all coach (at 4 different schools!!), so my role is to be everyone's cheerleader and encourager. My favorite subject to teach is Geometry because of the many hands on activities we can do in class. I also love helping students with ACT Test Prep after school and on the weekends.
