I am a decades long teacher in a New York State school. I have taught elementary through college level students. The majority of my career has been working with learners age 14-25 (high school and undergraduates). During my 30+ years in education I've written innumerable lesson plans. There is no need for you to spend your precious time re-inventing the wheel! Let me help so that you can re-claim your happy life!
I provide a structured learning environment for students by introducing not just "hands-on", but "brains-on" activities. My materials are inquiry based, engaging, and straight-forward. All of my products are well-tested and cater to students of all learning modalities and achievement levels. By creating streamlined lessons I have been able to simplify my teaching life. I would be delighted to help fellow science teachers, like yourself, simplify their life by sharing the resources that I use in my own classroom.
No formal "awards"....but a very REWARDING experience has been producing these volumes for teachers and students found on Amazon, just copy and paste this link: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=g+katz+chronicle
I hold a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction focusing on Science Education. Along with many, many science content courses (evolution, anatomy, ecology, etc, etc), my educational history includes business, economics, special education, and massage therapy! I draw upon those (and other) diverse topics to reach the great diversity of students. In fact, through my blog GKC-Edurichment and my catalog of cross-curricular activities (https://www.gertrudekatzchronicles.com/store/c22/enrichment-cross-curricular-activities), I strive to ease the burden of educators in other content areas with the hard work of their lesson planning.
I am a perpetual student of traditional education and all areas of self improvement. Visit my Biology Teaching Blog for my general instructional plans, reasoning, and thoughts for the NY State Living Environment Course. My blog consists of ten posts, which correspond to the ten units in which I teach my course. I have uploaded each unit's presentation (PowerPoint) file, which acts as my "plan book", and the videos which I show to students at various points within each presentation. The presentation/PowerPoint files are large and direct the topics of my instruction during the three-four weeks of each unit. A second blog, GKC-Edurichment gives ideas and activities that are meant to supplement, enhance, or otherwise extend and reinforce the regular curriculum. My hope is that this information can be of use to anyone stumbling upon my site.
