I have taught Kindergarten Dual Language and Fourth Grade Dual Language on the Spanish side in a Dual Language program in South Florida. I have presented at local, national and international conferences. I presented at the New York State Association for Bilingual Education, the 2nd Annual Cambridge Seminar: Promoting International Education in Chiclayo, Peru, the Seasons of Learning Conference at Broward County Public Schools, the 2016 Education Service Center Region 20 Language Conference in San Antonio, Texas, the National Association of Bilingual Education conference in Dallas, Texas in 2017 and in Orland, Florida in 2019 and most recently at the Florida Foreign Language Association Conference in Orlando, Florida. I am passionate about the field of bilingual education and specifically dual language programming. I created LearningBilingually as a way to disseminate information on the powerful advantages and the inherit importance of bilingualism and to share resources, ideas and personal experiences as an educator and advocate in the field.
I like to teach with center activities so that the structure is more student-driven! I like giving students a choice and providing them with activities that are engaging and educational. I believe that students learn best when they can manipulative things - when the learning is hands on.
